My Adventures with
Personal Stories of Working with Subtle Energies
During a meditation many years ago, I had a very confining feeling of being heavy, like an elephant was sitting on me. I asked John UK , my Spiritual Guide, about this experience.
“You expanded beyond your comfort limits and your mind lost control of the meditation. This caused the heavy feeling or the lack of bodily control”, responded John UK.
"Is this dangerous?" I asked.
"No. It probably felt disconcerting but it will not cause you physical or mental harm" said John UK.
"Why did this happen?" I inquired.
John UK responded "Several events took place. Your energies were high and projected very well. This allowed you to expand beyond the minds comfort limits allowing the mind to become out of control of the meditation, causing the fear and the heavy feeling".
I then asked "How do you then control an expansion?"
John said, "The conscious mind needs to realize the limits that the expansion is at. Once its comfort limits are reached, then don’t allow any further expansion. At first this may be done by withdrawing from the meditation, but with experience you may learn to control the area or mass of the expansion or the space enclosed by the expansion. One technique to do this is by visualizing a path or road or perhaps a ribbon or string or a lien or something that connects with the beginning".
"The beginning of what?" I asked.
"The beginning of the meditation", responded John UK. "You can then realize that you may follow this back to the beginning and therefore not become lost or expand beyond a set limit. If a line or string or ribbon is used, a predetermined amount can be chosen and that will stop the expansion once the end is reached. Or if a path or road or visible object that you follow is used, then a landmark may be selected at which point you will return or not go past a certain point. After each successive meditation, the length of the line or landmark may be comfortably extended. The basic connect is that your mind should control the situation".
John UK continued, "This form of expansion beyond the mind, however, does have its benefits, if you so desire to seek them. If you expand beyond the mind then it may become possible after many trials to then examine the mind from beyond the mind. The benefit of this type of meditation is that you obtain a true picture of yourself. There are aspects of ourselves that we hide from ourselves, both good and bad".
Now that I am more comfortable in meditation, expansion process, an out-of-body-experience, or OOBE, I often can feel as if I am taking a step away from my body when I become relaxed. It is at that moment when I take that step forward, I become like air, or light, or totally unencumbered.
