My Adventures with
Personal Stories of Working with Subtle Energies
The Spiritual Development process includes training yourself to sense Qi (subtle energy), learn how to build up your own subtle energy, and then learn how to move and use this subtle energy. When you learn to sense, move, and use Qi, you can do a lot of pretty amazing things, including helping to heal people via the energetic layers of their body.
I provide medical Qigong treatments, either in person (one-to-one), or remotely, where I project my spiritual self out of my physical body and go to the client's bedside to conduct the Qigong medical treatment. When I do a remote treatment, it is as if I am "there" and I visualize the entire treatment in my mind.
BUT recently I had a very different type of remote healing experience. I was engaged in my normal daily morning meditation when SUDDENLY I could see I was now sitting on a mountain top, next to a Buddhist Monk on top of a mountain. I assumed I was in Asia. I some how knew he "pulled" me to this location. I then had the impression I was here to give a Qigong healing treatment, but he did not look ill. No sooner did I think those thoughts, I was immediately transported again, but now I was in the middle of a one-room home with a woman lying on a mat on the floor. She looked very emaciated and ill. She was very thin and her eyes were closed, but she was alive. Barely.
I took a few seconds for me to calm down and a thought entered my mind, "this is just another remote Qigong medical treatment - no different than what you usually do." So I began a remote Qigong medical treatment. I directed Qi into each of her organs. and eventually saw them "light up" and start o function normally. She was still very weak, but she now was able to open her eyes and I knew she would live.
THEN, just as quick as I had arrived, I was now back in my home in California, sitting in my meditation pose. I opened my eyes and the meditation was now over. I sat for a few minutes and collected my thoughts to get back to feeling normal. This was such an unexpected and unusual event. I had never been PULLED to a healing treatment before. All the other remote treatments, I had PROJECTED my spiritual self to the client's bedside. It was as if the Buddhist Monk called out for help and perhaps saw I was available in my meditation state, pulling and directing me to the person in need.
Needless to say, it was a pretty amazing experience. I came away with an expanded awareness of what is possible in a meditative state, and what is possible when you work with subtle energy.
As one journeys in life, we will usually have experiences that move us in one direction or another. For example, I had a significant dream spelling out E.S.P. and that led me to meet John U.K., my spiritual guide and teacher. But another twist of events happened when I had my first acupuncture experience. These are my notes from these initial acupuncture treatments back in the summer of 2010, which then moved me toward the path of Energy Medicine.
I laid face up on the acupuncture table, eyes closed, waiting for Pat, the acupuncturist, to come in the room. I felt like I was in an operating room theater with hundreds of people observing me. I opened my eyes and could see I was physically alone in the room, but when I closed my eyes again, I could SEE hundreds of people above me, as if waiting for things to start.
Pat came into the room and asked how I was doing. I chuckled and said something about there are too many people here observing me. I thought she would laugh, but she didn't. She said, "hold on, I'll be right back" and then left the room. She returned after a minute and asked now asked if it was OK. "Yes," I told her, "there are now only a handful of nonphysical people here." She then explained how she usually requests "help" with a new patient but had never heard of this much help stepping in to assist before now. She then began a series of acupuncture treatments.
I saw an "Old Chinese Master" in the room with Pat as if he was here to assist with my treatments. I saw him shaking his head at times, and then I saw him change shapes, becoming like liquid, and even entering my inner body through one of the needle points. I could "see" him move things within my body, essentially taking over the treatment. I was not afraid, just rather amazed, and just observed, watching him work as if he was deeply involved in repairs.
In one treatment, I could feel a burning sensation beginning in the center core of my body. The heat was deep within and I could feel it starting to spread and advance to other parts of my body. The image of a paper being lit by a fire popped into my mind. It was as if this paper had been lit by a match in the middle of the paper and was now rapidly spreading to consume the entire piece of paper. I could now see a similar image happening within my body; a fire had been lit within me and it was as if my entire inner body was being rapidly consumed with a fire; just like what had happened to that sheet of paper.
In my mind, I could now see that all my insides had been burned and consumed with this quick and intense flame. The inside of my body was now empty and hollow. I could see empty space within my body, all charred and black only held together with charred skin.
When I looked outside of my body, everything looked normal. No fire, no evidence of this fire whatsoever. It functioned just the same. But when I looked within my body, it was dark, hollow, black, sooty, and charred. Everything was now gone.
During another acupuncture treatment, the old Chinese Master once again began his work, but this time he worked above me as if my body was a table and he manipulated the energy from above. As he did this, I could see deep reds, bright oranges, and even some yellows and hints of green all moving around inside my body while he worked above my body.
I then could see the presence of another person in the room. This person was female and she reminded me of a Priestess, resembling images of a Priestess I had seen in some Tarot cards. I did not know her but could feel this persons importance. She appeared to be an observer to this event. The images in my mind then changed back to what was going on within me and I could see that I was almost to the summit of a long and difficult mountain climb. I felt the energy change on top of my body, as if it was changing and morphing into something new, almost like that sensation I would get right before experiencing a kundalini, but I knew this was not a kundalini. I recognized the sensation a an energy shift - culminating and changing. It was becoming like a blanket of heat about 8 inches in depth, and coating my entire upper body and being distributed over my body. It was hot, almost like fire, but not burning. I was not afraid.
In my mind I could see that last week's acupuncture session had the visual experience of a fire burning within me, but this week, there was nothing within me - I was hollow, or that is how I perceived my inner self. But this time, the fire was on top of my reclined body. In addition, I could see a bright red and deep orange colors in this blanket of fire energy that was laying on top of my body. My thoughts then changed and I could see it wasn't a fire at all, but was like a blooming flower and now in the open air!
My mind was taken back to the evolutionary process of man and the different layers of energy that have been created around humans over millenniums of time. Each of these layers of new energy had advanced the development of humankind to new levels of awareness and abilities, and it seemed this was not occurring through this visual change of change I was witnessing on top of my body.
Pat, the acupuncturist, then walked back into the room and the acupuncture session was over but I could still feel the blanket of heat and those bright vibrant colors on top of me. I was surprised she didn’t see what I was feeling as it was so vivid and real to me. I even waved my hand over my body as I lay on the table to show her, and as I waved my hand over my body, I could feel the wave of the heat change to cool and follow my hand. When I moved my hand back to my side, the heat returned and I could feel and see the vibrant reds and oranges of this blossoming. I was now also aware I was able to direct and change this energy with a wave of my hand! I was amazed at this discovery.
I wanted to know why and how these experiences were happening to me during acupuncture. Pat had no explanation, but suggested I may want to take some Chinese Medicine classes to learn more about Acupuncture, thinking this may help me discover my needed answers. So I did. Those classes at Chinese Medicine school then led me to Qi-gong, one of the branches of Chinese Medicine - the branch of directing and sensing Qi for purposes of healing.
These events turned into becoming a type of trigger, which then moved me to take a certain direction and path in my life. This is how nudges from your Higher Self or the Astral Plane often work - you do something that at first seems benign, but it becomes a trigger to help you change your course. This is often how we get our life on course - nudges that spark interest, curiosity, and even passion.
Sometimes you don't realize where your life is taking you until you get to a certain point and can look back. It is then you understand more about the pulls, pushes, changes, and nuances that got you to where you are today. For me, much of MY journey has been focused on sensing, cultivating, and using subtle energies. I didn't know this at the time, but now that I reflect back, I now see the experiences were stepping stones all connected with this purpose.
When I first met John U.K., my Spiritual Guide and teacher, he spent a great deal of his effort in teaching me about the different types of spiritual (subtle) energies and the various tools one could use to cultivate these different energies. Later, when I stumbled on Qi-Gong (chee gung), the energetic branch of Chinese Medicine, I learned more about how to use and direct those subtle energies for a more specific purpose - healing.
In these stepping stones of my journey, I have been exposed to new wonders I didn't even know existed. Let me share an example of one of those learning moments I had during one of my Qigong classes and how it allowed me to open my mind so I could see take different paths to try and heal the body.
The instructor in my Qigong class had us sit in a chair and asked us to close our eyes and visualize the upper, middle, and lower Dantien in the body (head, chest, abdomen). He then asked us to focus our thoughts on creating a red ball of energy in the lower Dantien. In the lower Dantien, we would visualize a red ball of energy and squeeze it to make it smaller and more compact with energy. As we did this, we were supposed to visualize the red ball becoming hotter, and hotter, and hotter. We would then relax our focus and then visualize the ball expanding back to the original size and filling our lower Dantien. Then once again, we would visualize the red ball getting smaller, more compact, and hotter. We would repeat this process over and over again until the red ball became very hot; like fire.
The exercise is used to help a person learn to focus during a meditation and see how the mind can be used to guide the meditation, the Qi, and then transform energy to a physical sensation and result; heat. I have meditated for years and have used the basic meditation technique I was originally taught, which includes grounding with the earth and then going through each of the chakras one by one to energize them. But in this guided meditation, we jumped right into the visualization of a red ball of energy.
This visualization should have been easy for me, but for some reason I kept stumbling on my chakras. I kept seeing my chakras get in the way of this red ball of energy. It was frustrating. I had to figure out what to do with my first, second and third chakra in this meditation exercise.
So in my mind, I stepped away to view my body so I could see what to do with my chakras so they would not get in the way. As I did this, I could now see how the chakras were in my very inner most layer of my body's energy field. I could also see there was another energy field, so I peeked in this field and saw the energetic layer of my organs were housed in the layer. I could see this was the energetic level of my organs; the ones used in healing directing energy for treatments and health.
I then peeked into the next layer and it was here I could see where the Qi transformation takes place. “Ahhh,” I thought. "So this is the layer I need to be working for this exercise." I then was able to re-begin this meditation exercise and now could easily visualize the red ball of energy expanding, contracting, and creating energy and heat because now I was in the right energy layer of the body.
One of the outcomes of this meditation exercise was becoming more aware of the different energy fields and layers inside the body and how the different energy layers have different purposes and functions.
It was this experience of being able to see different energy layers in the body which allowed me to discard my mental image of how the energetic body was supposed to work. I could now see there were many different layers one could work in to help guide and influence the healing process.
I am at times able to sense, feel, and see Spiritual Beings. When I started to give medical Qigong treatments, this ability increased because I was spending more effort to sense and move subtle energy. Some of my Qigong clients would bring their Spiritual Guide to the treatment, or someone who was close to them who had died came to the treatment. This started to become a little problem when I started gave treatments in my home; nonphysical Spiritual Beings I did not know started to stop by on their own.
Several times I was awakened from sleep and would see nonphysical Beings in my bedroom, for example. But when I was awakened by a nonphysical Being trying to choke me during my sleep, I realized that not all nonphysical Beings have my best interests at heart, and some are downright cruel. This awareness startled me because I had made the assumption that upon death, everyone becomes nice. This is not the case.
I then created an energetic field of protection around my home so that only those associated with me or Beings who had been invited into my home, would be allowed in.
Sometime after this, I was awakened around 3:00 AM when I heard the doorbell ring. I got up to see who was at the door and saw no one there. I decided to do a meditation, and a nonphysical Being presented himself to me. He had rung the doorbell to be allowed into my home. He was a Spiritual Guide for one of my clients who I was going for a Qigong treatment later in the day and wanted to make sure he was invited in and could be here. I then modified my field of protection around my home with the stipulation that "Spiritual Beings associated with my Client on the day of a Medical Qigong treatment may be allowed entrance into my home prior and during the treatment."
Who knew things would have to be so literal! It still gives me a chuckle.
Yes, I still continue to create an energy of protection around my home. I renew this field every week just to make sure it stays active and engaged.
Sometimes during a Qigong Medical Treatment, I sense nonphysical beings present in the treatment. Those allowed into the room is through invitation only, either from myself or my client. But recently, during one of my Qigong medical treatments, I was surprised to see there were about 25+ nonphysical guests surrounding the treatment table. These were friends of my client and she had included them to come and participate in her medical Qigong treatment.
I was primarily focused on my patients lungs and heart during this Qigong medical treatment, but then looked up and noticed her circle of friends were now all connected, with each placing a hand on the next person's shoulder. I also noticed they were breathing in unison; in and out, and in and out, and in and out. I then looked over at my client and could tell they were energetically breathing for her. This allowed us to work more freely on her lungs and heart.I had never witnessed anything like this before; this healing circle were acting like a respirator or a heart-lung bypass machine.
But what happened next surprised me even more. When we were done working on her energetic lungs, each of those 25+ beings then took a golden spark of their personal energy from their chest, about the size of a coin, and then placed it within my clients chest. This seem to trigger my client to resume her own breathing and heart beat so she could resume her own body maintenance.
This experience of observing this healing circle allowed me to witness first hand the power this type of circle can provide. When the healing circle is unified, focused, and filled with love, the power and energy produced can perform miracles; it can even be life giving.
Medical Qigong is a type of healing process that works in the energetic layers of the body. In one of my Qigong medical treatment sessions, a woman came in for a treatment who was suffering from deep sadness, having lost her partner from a sudden heart attack. She was having a difficult time getting over the loss of not having him in her life anymore. She considered him her soul mate and one true love, and his sudden death exacerbated her. She had been crying every single day for over a year.
I was still an apprentice learning medical Qigong, so this treatment stood out for me as being very unique and powerful. During the woman's treatment, I could feel her husband's presence in the treatment room. I had never had this happen before, and it was totally unexpected.
During her treatment, when I was treating her heart, I saw energetic pink and red valentines flowing into her heart while I directed Qi into my patient's heart. I was overwhelmed with the love I felt while witnessing this outpouring of hearts being placed within her from her deceased husband.
For my patient, she didn't see nor feel anything during her treatment, but for me, it was one of the most powerful treatments I had ever encountered up to that point.
A few weeks later this woman reported she became aware of how different she felt the very next day. She noticed she not longer felt the need to sit and cry each day. She was now starting to notice things around her and also pay more attention to her efforts at work. She even considered herself healed.
This experience showed me how energetic images can be a vehicle during a Qigong treatment to convey messages as to what is happening in and around a person. This process of "seeing" these types of energetic messages during a healing treatment have been a way to help guide me during the assessment as well as the treatment of individuals seeking help.
I was in Chinese Medicine school and learning about acupuncture points and channels. The topic was about how the entire human body could be represented in certain regions of the body. For example, the whole representation of the human body can be made on a hand, the foot, or the ear, or the face. These regions were considered to be a microcosm of the human body. The instructor then said, "And we are microcosm of the Earth."
When I heard this phrase, "we are a microcosm of the Earth," everything around me seemed to stop. My heart stated to race as if my mind was opening up and saying "here is the answer to your questions". I knew about Earth energy centers and conduits from John U.K., but now I was hearing how we are a representation of the earth, which means that not only does our body have energy centers, conduits, and portal (called acupuncture points and meridians), it means we can move through these portals as a ways to heal AND we can also move through portals to any dimension, layer of the Tao, or anywhere in time.
It also provided an answer to my question about how John U.K. (and other Spiritual Beings) was able to share my husbands body - one would come and one would leave through one of the portals in his body.
